Golden Sunrise on Tamserku - Nepal Thamserku (21,729 ft) starts to glow with the sunrise. To the right, a jagged ridge leads to Kangtega.

Everest at Sunset, Khumbu - Nepal Mt. Everest (29,035 ft), glows orange with the last rays of evening sunshine. Taken from Kala Patar (18,192ft), a small Himalayan foothill, the sunset provided a spectacular visual opportunity - and absolutely no additional heat. We descended in complete darkness, by headlamp.
