  • The World of a Clownfish, Raja Ampat - Indonesia

As the day comes to a close, the flowing anemones slowly roll up into a ball - protection from the world of the night. The clownfish, who live within its stinging arms, are then forced to huddle together - hugging the last bit of protection, waiting for the sun to rise again.

  • Back to the Machine World - Thailand

A diver approaches the surface of the Andaman Ocean with a great deal of caution. The surface at Richelieu Rock can be a hive of small and large boats, all recovering or depositing their divers into the deep.

  • The Colors of Silence - Wyoming

In the heart of the Wind River Range of Wyoming, lies a magical realm of razor-sharp granite spires and walls, idyllic lakes and tarns, and meadows impossibly filled with wildflowers. Here, Deep Lake mirrors the ramparts of East Temple peak.

  • Gregorian Fan, Komodo Island - Indonesia

Diving in the waters around Komodo make you feel like you are in a well-cared-for botanical garden. Gigantic fans, elephant ear coral, tube sponges and table coral seem to have been planted by a master architect. The dive sites here are simply stunning.

  • Pink Skunk Clownfish - Indonesia

In the evening, sea anemones fold themselves up into their purple leathery trunks, leaving the resident clownfish very little room for their neighborhood watch duties.

    Bubble Anemone - Indonesia

The bright orange globes of this anemone are quite large, and are believed to grow this way with increased exposure to sunlight - such as in shallower waters. These fragile polyp structures have the potential to envenomate small pray with neurotoxins, as they are not plants and derive most of their energy from sunlight, the addition of even tiny shrimp meals means survival.
Mandarin Fish, Komodo Island - Indonesia

For about a half hour each day, just as the sun is setting, these tiny (6cm) picturesque fish emerge from the broken shells and staghorn corals to dance with their mates. Male mandarin fish will patrol the broken floor for a suitable female. Once they have found each other they align themselves belly-to-belly and together, slowly rise about one meter above the reef. Once they are at the peak of their ascent, they will release sperm and a cloud of eggs, and then disappear in a flash.
